Why book a dog-friendly glamping holiday with C&S

When we inspect a place, we make sure we think about who it works for and why. If it’s dog-friendly, we’ll say so, but if it’s not, then we won’t. So you can trust us to steer you to the best beds and biscuits at the most amazing dog-friendly glamping places we can find. If you can’t decide where to go, then get in touch with our Guest Experience Team and they’ll help guide you. We haven’t forgotten the humans either. All our dog-friendly glamping places still have to meet our general standards for having a touch of magic on top of solid foundations in comfort and quality, or whatever the equivalent of foundations are in a treehouse.

Five dog friendly cabins where dogs are REALLY welcomed

About dog-friendly glamping

Who we are Canopy & Stars is a small, independent travel company that works with small, independent owners who create beautiful dog-friendly glamping places for dogs of all sizes and independence levels. We’re employee-owned, a B Corp and have founded our own charitable trust that uses a share of profits to support organisations fighting climate disaster.

Why choose glamping? Glamping is a responsible, sustainable way of getting outdoors, but it’s also the sort of holiday from modern life that we all need sometimes. You get to disappear into the countryside, without the faff of camping, and completely unwind into the peace of nature. For dogs, there’s tonnes of new things to smell and new mud to jump in, so it’s a win-win.

Our dog friendly glamping holidays Dog-friendly glamping is almost a tautology, because getting out into nature is already a great dog-friendly holiday. What makes our dog-friendly glamping places even more special is that they aren’t just fun for your dogs. We pick only the best places we come across to join our collection, so you'll cool dog-friendly treehouses, cabins and other quirky places to stay. The fact that they’re dog-friendly is almost secondary, but don’t tell the dog that!

We are doing our bit for the planet We believe we have a responsibility to improve the relationship between travel and the environment. This starts at home, of course. We are constantly looking for ways to lower our impact as a company, examining our suppliers, partners and transport options among many other things. We’re on a mission to plant a million trees by 2030 and use our platform to help people connect to and appreciate nature. You can read our full impact report to see our work so far and our plans for the future.

Dog-friendly FAQs

Can you take dogs glamping? Of course! We know of one dog alone that's been on 11 Canopy & Stars trips. There are plenty of glamping places that accept dogs, although not all do. We have a filter on our site to help you find them and you can always get in touch with our Guest Experience Team if you have any questions.

What does dog friendly mean? When it comes to glamping, dog-friendly means that you and your dog will both be welcome to stay and enjoy a memorable adventure in the great outdoors. There will be plenty of space for your dog to roam and a cosy spot for it to sleep in, in the same space as you. The owner may have dogs of their own and some places have restrictions about the number of dogs they accept, so please check the Essentials tab or get in touch with our Guest Experience Team if you have any doubts.

Should I take my dog on holiday? It can be great fun taking your dog on a glamping holiday, but it can require extra preparation. It's wise to have your pet microchipped and you'll want to ensure you pack all their essentials (food, lead etc). If you’re travelling abroad, you may also need to visit your local vet for a certificate that proves your dog is fit to travel. Again, remember to check if the place you're staying has any special rules, although every place in our Dog-Friendly collection should be fine!
